We knew once LOL Surprise Series 3 Confetti Pop came out that other toymakers would jump on the bandwagon. After all, kids love confetti and surprises. One of the latest toys to utilize the concept is Party Popteenies.
Party Popteenies bring together dolls, confetti, cuteness, and parties into one toy your little one will enjoy popping over and over.
If your child likes LOL dolls and Shopkins, this party themed chachki is worth a look.

1. Party Popteenies are party poppers that have a doll inside.
So what are Party Popteenies exactly? You know those poppers (or crackers in the UK) that you can find at the party store that twist and have confetti come out.
That’s basically what a Party Popteenie is…a party store popper.
The added bonus for little ones is that there’s a doll that pops up in the top of the popper. This doll also comes with few accessories and stickers.
2. Party Popteenies are surprise toys.
Surprise dolls and toys are really popular right now. As with other true surprise toys, with Party Popteenies:
- You don’t know which one you are getting.
- There are blind bags–colored plastic bags that you can’t see inside–for kids to open.
- There’s the anticipation of the unboxing experience.
For surprise toys, the unboxing is as important as what’s inside, so be sure to be stay excited as your little one opens it. She’ll be more positive about the doll if you are.
3. Party Popteenies are collectible (of course).
Collectible toys are really popular right now as well. So, of course, Party Popteenies are collectible. Supposedly, there are 25+ in Series 1.
Each Party Popteenie comes with a collector’s poster so your little one can keep track of the ones she has.
Since Party Popteenies are surprise toys, you may be frustrated if your little one starts trying to collect them. You are very likely to get duplicates and you may feel like it’s a waste of money.
If your little one wants more than 1 Party Popteenie, we recommend buying the 6 pack Party Popteenie set. It holds 6 different Party Popteenies. She won’t know which one she will get, but they are all guaranteed to be different. Buy it ahead of time and give them to her one by one for birthday, Christmas, good grades…you get the idea.
4. Within Party Popteenies Series 1, there are 3 party squads.
Party squads are the different themed parties your little one can have. Here are the party themes:
Cutie Creatures
Rainbow Unicorn Surprise
Winter Wonderland Surprise
Dolls and accessories coordinate with the theme. For example, everything in the Rainbow Unicorn Surprise party squad has rainbows, unicorns, or both.
You cannot buy Party Popteenies by theme…it’s a surprise!
If your little one also likes LOL dolls, the party theme for Party Popteenies is like the club for LOL dolls.
5. Don’t take of the top of the popper!
You definitely need to read the box BEFORE you give the Party Popteenie to your little one.
We found the popping to be a little tricky and inconsistent. You will probably need scissors at some point in the process.
Don’t take off the top of the popper because that’s where to doll pops out from. If you remove the top, you will have ruined the surprise. =(
Don’t take off the bottom of the popper first either. This is where the blind bags filled with surprise accessories are.

6. Party Popteenies are small dolls with even smaller accessories.
Be prepared not to make a yuck face when your little one pops the popper.
Party Popteenies are small plastic dolls. At about 2.5 inches, they are smaller than LOL tots dolls, which are about 3.5 inches.
Inside the popper, your little one will get:
1 doll
1 hair accessory (for the doll)
1-2 party accessories
Hair accessories may be hats, headbands, flowers, or bows and vary by doll. The hair accessories are the only removable and interchangeable items on Party Popteenies.
If your little one likes to style dolls and change their clothes, she will be disappointed with this aspect of Party Popteenies.
Party accessories may be bags, cupcakes, plates, cookies, baking sheets, pets, etc. Basically, little items fitting the party squad theme.
FYI, these accessories are tiny. The “popteenie” name seems like fun marketing until you realize the “teenie” is for real. A lot of these pieces are teenie tiny.
Since there are so many tiny pieces, we think Party Popteenies are best for children ages 5+. The packaging says 4+ but young 4s may easily put these pieces in their mouths or ears.
When not playing with the tiny pieces, put them is a big plastic bag so the accessories are out of reach of younger siblings.
7. Party Popteenie poppers and confetti is reusable.
Thankfully!
Keep the party popper because you can refill it with confetti (even your own) to reuse it. The confetti is big enough that you can collect it for a few more pops.
8. Don’t compare these to LOL dolls.
If you’re used to LOL dolls, Party Popteenies may seem like a bit of a letdown. The included doll is quite small. There’s only 1 interchangeable accessory. There’s no character development with the different dolls.
But Party Popteenies do have their merits…
They are absolutely perfect for girls’ birthday parties, sleepovers, and trips. Party Popteenies, if bought in bulk, are inexpensive enough to be a robust party bag edition. Each doll is unique enough to hopefully entertain your little ones for awhile. They are also small enough to be bagged up and taken as summer road trip entertainment.
9. Buy a playset or 6 pack.
Individual prices for Party Popteenies vary and are rarely worth it. Instead, we recommend buying the 6 pack and rationing them (you can always give the leftovers to other children for birthdays) or buying a playset.
Party Popteenie playsets come with an entire party in a box. Seriously…unwrap the box carefully because it is the party scene.
In playsets, the doll shown in the packaging is the doll that’s included. There’s still a confetti popper but it’s smaller than the regular ones. Playsets also include party favors and decorations so your little one can create her ideal party.

What We Like
- Party Popteenies are a good value if you buy the 6 pack or playset.
- Fun for girls parties.
- Thank goodness the popper and confetti are reusable.
What We Don’t Like
- One popper isn’t really a standalone gift for birthdays or Christmas.
- It was difficult to get the popper to pop properly.
- Everything is teenie tiny.
Final Verdict
Party Popteenies are perfect for birthday parties and party bags, but not really suited to daily play. They are cute and fun but really small, which means the pieces may be lost within a few weeks. Although they are surprise dolls like LOLs, Party Popteenies lack the “story” of individual dolls and many of the play possibilities.
