Thinking about buying the OMG Winter Cabin but don’t know how it’s different from the Winter Disco Chalet? Although they look EXACTLY the same, there are some important differences.

1. LOL OMG Winter Chill Cabin is newer.
The Winter Disco Chalet was released in 2019 as part of the epic Winter Disco series. The OMG Winter Cabin came out at the end of 2020. Essentially, the OMG Cabin is the updated version of the regular chalet. In stores, you may be able to snag the original house, but you may not be able to find one online.
2. There’s no snowblower chimney.
The Winter Disco Chalet included a cool snowblower chimney. It created a fireplace tube up from the bottom to the top of the dollhouse. That meant that on the ground floor of the living room there was a 3-dimensional fireplace. Since the tube extended up through the second floor, there was also a fireplace in the bathroom. At the top was a battery-operated chimney to blow “snow” pellets. Here’s what it looks like:
The OMG Winter Cabin is essentially manufactured from the same mold, so it has a lot of the same features…
Except for the chimney.
The chimney is a cool concept, but it was problematic for play. First, the chimney blew the snow everywhere. Second, if you wanted to reuse the snow, you had to gather it up. Five minutes of fun for 30 minutes of clean up. Last, it was a battery guzzler that rarely worked properly. Good riddance!
It did look cool though…
It might have been better to keep the chimney but close it off at the top. After all, what’s a cabin without a chimney?
3. There are no dolls.
The Winter Chalet came with an exclusive family of LOL dolls including a boy, girl, and pet. The new OMG Winter Cabin DOES NOT come with any dolls, not even OMG dolls. Yes, dolls are advertised in the commercials. Yes, dolls are on the box…
But they are not IN the box.
4. There are few feature improvements.
As far as we can tell, the new Winter Cabin is slightly easier to put together than the chalet. Materials seem to be of a higher quality as well.
5. It’s the same price as the Winter Disco Chalet.
As of February 2021, the retail price of a new, OMG Winter Cabin is $249. This is the exact same price as the Winter Disco Chalet. Considering that they are basically the same but the chalet comes with a family of dolls, the cabin is starting to look a little shabby.

What’s better than both of these houses?
This “dollhouse” has been completely overlooked. There’s so much value at a MUCH lower price than the OMG Winter Cabin. Check the price for the LOL Clubhouse on Amazon.
The only benefit we think the cabin has over the clubhouse is that the rooms of the cabin are actually tall enough to fit OMG dolls. If your little one doesn’t have any OMG dolls, then this isn’t a problem.
