How the Charm Fizz Factory Works
In order to make your own Charm Fizzes, first unbox and assemble the complete playset.
Keep in mind that the ingenious design of the set means that every component has multiple uses, and will be useful when it comes to making the fizzes.
Also, because it’s good to continually stir the mixture while adding new ingredients, this is a great, fun project for two people. Young children should have adult supervision, but it won’t feel like supervision when you’re doing it together.
- First, using the funnel, add the whole ball of sodium bicarbonate into the mixing chamber. The ball both stores and measures the right amount of sodium bicarbonate
- Then add one scoop (using the small side) of your choice of pigment
- Fill the dropper with cold water
- Turn the handle on the mixer, mixing the two powders together
- When the sodium bicarbonate and pigment are thoroughly mixed, keep turning the handle and mixing the powder while slowly adding 20 drops of water from the dropper
- Keep mixing the powder while adding one scoop (the large side) of the citric acid
- Keep mixing the powder, turning the handle both ways, to incorporate all the ingredients until they reach a sand-like texture
- Once all the ingredients are mixed, rotate the clear container beneath the mixing ball. Use the tab on the back to release half the ingredients into the clear container
- Close the tab on the back, and rotate the clear container forward so that you can add your charm. While you can use anything you like, remember that the charm will eventually be submerged in water
- Rotate the clear container back beneath the mixing chamber, and use the tab to release the rest of the fizz mixture into the container
- Turn the clear container away from the mixing chamber and back into position beneath the baton
- Rotate the baton forward and release the glitter lid to sprinkle glitter on top of the fizz mixture
- Close the glitter lid
- Rotate the baton back upright, and press down vertically to begin molding the ball. It will be necessary to screw the baton down to pack the mixture tightly into a ball
- Wait half an hour for the fizz ball to dry before releasing it from the clear container
The finished fizz ball can be stored on the side of the factory until you are ready to dissolve it in 4 cups of warm water, enjoying the fun fizz and releasing the surprise inside!

Troubleshooting Some Common Problems
Citric acid gets hard
Some users report that, upon unboxing, the citric acid has become compressed and hard. Hardened citric acid can be manually broken up or even tossed in a blender until it regains its powdery consistency.
Finished balls too soft or loose
