At one point, LOL was launching lots of all-in-one “bin-style” surprise toys. Long time LOL doll lovers will remember Pearl Surprise, Bubbly Surprise, and–of course–Big Surprise. Well, Bubbly Surprise is back as part of the Color Change series with the obviously named LOL Color Change Bubbly Surprise.

1. There are two versions of LOL Color Change Bubbly Surprise: pink and orange.
For your little one, this is probably the most crucial point: there are 2 versions! The pink one is a bit of a hot pink and the orange one has a bit of goldenrod in it.
There are different dolls and accessories inside the pink ones and orange ones, so it’s safe to buy one of each.
However…
Each pink Bubbly Surprise is the exact same. If you buy two pink sets, you will get the same dolls and accessories inside each set.
Fortunately, there is ample supply of both the pink and orange sets over at Amazon, so you should have no problem getting one of each.
2. The purse-carrying case is big and has a flat bottom.
If you’re new to the world of LOL Surprise!, you might not know that the big plastic package actually has a purpose…
It’s a carrying case!
That’s right…your little one can throw all her LOL stuff inside the carrying case and put on the top for safekeeping. The carrying case bottom is flat (not curved like the top) for easy carrying and storage.
Here are some other things you can use the carrying case for:
- All LOL doll storage. Get rid of all those surprise balls (or do this with them) and put all things LOL inside Bubbly Surprise.
- Fizz lab. Bubbly surprise comes with a big fizz. Fill your carrying case up with water and enjoy the bubbles.
- Sleepover train case. Stuff a few clothes and toiletries into the LOL Color Change Bubbly Surprise carrying case and your little one is ready for a sleepover.
- Snack case. Going on a long journey or road trip to Grandma’s house? Pop some healthy snacks inside ziplock bags and through them in the Bubbly Surprise carrying case for your LOL doll lover.
- Picnic basket. One of our favorites! Make an impromptu and no-fuss picnic by putting some sandwiches and drinks in the Bubbly Surprise case. Grab an outdoor blanket and your little one, then head to the playground or a nearby park. For extra fun, bring a few LOL dolls.
3. LOL Color Change Bubbly Surprise has 10 surprises.
Pink and orange Color Change Bubbly Surprises have different surprises inside the pearl, blind bags, sand, and big fizz. Here’s what you can expect in each Color Change Bubbly Surprise.

Instead of a mermaid tail for the pet, there is a hat for the tots dolls. There is also a skirt, rather than shorts. The rest of the surprises are the same (outfits, shoes, etc.).

4. 3 of the surprise balls are filled with sand.
When your little one opens the Color Change Bubbly Surprise, she will see a big heart surrounded by pearl balls.
Three accessories–the mermaid tail, an outfit, and shoes–are hidden inside the sand. Your little one can easily break the sand apart with her hands to dig out the accessory.
Unfortunately, if the shoes are the accessory that is hidden in the sand, it is a little bit of work to get all the sand out of the inside of the tiny shoes. The easiest way to remove the sand is just to wash the shoes and then wipe them with a small cloth or wet wipe.
5. Be sure to keep the kinetic sand.
The sand in the LOL Color Change Bubbly Surprise is kinetic sand, so it’s tactile and moldable, to avoid messes and spills and keep the fun going. The pearls neatly clip together, to keep the sand in one place, and the kinetic sand adapts to the mold every time.
What is kinetic sand you ask?
Kinetic sand is super cool moldable sand. It has the look and feel of slightly wet sand, but it only sticks to itself. That’s right…no spills or sticky surfaces from kinetic sand.
It NEVER dries out so your little one can use it over and over again when playing with her pet.
If she likes kinetic sand, you might consider getting her a portable kinetic sandbox. Kinetic sand is the PERFECT alternative to play dough!
6. 3 blind bags are inside the heart fizz.
After she uses warm water to dissolve the big heart fizz (with really cool bubbles), your little one will find a reusable heart case (that is also a doll stand).
Inside that case, she will find the rest of her surprises.
DO NOT use the fizz like a bath bomb. It may stain your tub and isn’t formulated to be used in the bathtub.
7. Each LOL Bubbly Surprise has 1 re-released tots doll and 1 re-released pet.
All the dolls and pets in the Color Change series have been released before.

Sailor Q.T. and Sailor Puppy are inside the PINK Bubbly Surprise, while Captain B.B. and Captain Puppy are inside the ORANGE Bubbly Surprise.
Each doll and pet has cool two-tone color shimmer hair that looks different depending on the light. So cool!

8. Bubbly Surprise dolls and pets color change in ice-cold water.
Dip these cuties in ice-cold water to see them change! The hair DOES NOT color change, since it is already two-toned.
Warm water will make the color changes disappear.
9. LOL Color Change Bubbly Surprise of the same color have the same contents.
Just like LOL Big Surprise, LOL Pearl Surprise, and LOL Bigger Surprise, all Bubbly Surprise that are the same color have the same content.
If you buy 2, the entire thing will be a duplicate. The doll, outfits, and stickers are all the same in each box.
