1. What are Candylocks doll and pets?
Candylocks dolls and pets are 3-packs of cute Candylocks dolls that come with 2 coordinating pets each. Candylocks dolls are based on cotton candy (and smell like it too). They have super long cotton hair perfect for styling. Pets have coordinating styles, names, and colors. They also have super long hair for styling!
2. A Candylocks doll is 3 inches tall.
These cuties are about the size of regular LOL tot dolls. Your little one is likely to be VERY surprised at how small the doll is so manage expectations from the beginning.
However…
3. There are 15 inches of cotton candy hair.
The doll is only 3 inches tall but, boy, does have super long hair. Your little one will have 15 whole inches of cotton hair to braid, bun, stack, and pile as much as she wants.
An IMPORTANT note on the doll’s head:
This doll only has half a head. She’s basically missing the back of her head because that is where the hair is attached. Although we wish it would have been possible to make a doll with a whole head and just attached the hair, apparently it wasn’t. A Candylocks doll’s hair is not rooted in clumps of hair like you see in dolls with other types of hair. We guess the big cotton pieces could not be attached that way.
Hopefully, your little one won’t care.
4. Do NOT use a brush or comb on this doll!
You absolutely, positively can NOT use typical styling tools are products on this doll. The hair is like cotton or big pieces of yarn. If she tries to comb it, the hair will come out, mess up the comb, and probably destroy the doll.
So how does she style the hair?
With her hands! This doll is made so that the big “dreads” pull apart and stick together with very little effort. She can do just about any style she likes just using her hands.
Your little one may not be able to use a comb or brush on Candylocks dolls, but she can still use hair clips and ponytail holders.

6. There are 4 Candylocks doll and pet sets.
Currently, there are 4 coordinating Candylocks doll and pet 3-pack sets. They are all the same size. Their clothes and shoes can be removed, so they can switch outfits. We’ve provided them below in detail so you can see everything on the dolls.

7. Candylocks dolls smell like their flavors.
Well, for the most part. Any doll you order is going to have a faint smell but it will depend on:
- where the doll was stored (it may smell like surrounding flavors)
- what was next to the doll when it was stored (some objects can absorb the small)
- when your doll was produced (the smell faded over time)
8. A Candylocks doll and pet 3-pack comes with 4 accessories.
Each 3-pack comes with 1 doll, 2 pets, and 4 accessories to share:
- 1 hairpin
- 1 barrette that converts into a pet food/water bowl
- Another accessory (unique to the style of the doll)

9. There’s no hair extension or hair chalk.
Other Candylocks dolls come with a hair extension and hair chalk that your little one can also use. The pet sets don’t.
However, the hair is still washable. While many popular dolls with hair don’t recommend getting the hair wet, Candylocks dolls love it.
Just be sure to thoroughly dry the hair before more play. We recommend letting it air dry or line dry for one day after it gets wet.
10. Says ages 5+, but we think 6-10 only.
If you have a 5-year old that likes tasting things or putting yummy smelling things in her mouth, this is not the doll for her…she’ll always be tempted. The series also isn’t great for girls 4 or under because of the small parts (choking hazards) and pointy ends that are perfect for poking eyes.
We think only girls from ages 6 to 10 will be interested in Candylocks dolls and pets (despite what the pictures on Amazon imply). Girls older than 10 will have moved on to other doll series like OMGs.
11. There’s a larger version of Candylocks dolls!
One of the downsides to these Candylocks dolls is that they are quite small. A 3-inch doll with 15 inches of hair may be difficult to stand and style.
Don’t worry though! There’s a larger 7-inch doll with just 12 inches of hair. The proportions may be more manageable for little hands if she likes the concept but wants a larger doll. Big Candylocks dolls also come with a hair extension and hair chalk that your little one can use in her own hair.

How Much Do Candylocks Doll and Pet Cost?
As of March 2021, the retail price for these dolls is all over the place: between $8.99 and $19.99.
HOWEVER…
